On September 29, 2005 of Barrington, NJ age 84 yrs. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee. Rysnider). Devoted father of Susan M. Mullane and her husband Frank and Debra Napoli and her husband Jerry. Dear brother of Francis and James Bartholomew. Loving grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mr. Bartholomew was a life long resident of Barrington where he was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Church and Past Commander of the Barrington VFW Post 7247. Mr. Bartholomew courageously served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. During battle, Mr. Bartholomew’s plane was shot down and he was captured and held as a POW in Germany for 2 ½ years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9PM and again on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30am at the POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10am at St. Francis de Sales Church, 199 Willmont Ave. Barrington, NJ 08007. Interment private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made either to the Barrington VWF Post 7247, 109 Shreeve Ave Barrington, NJ 08007 or to St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church at the above address
