Dorothy "Dot" A. King

(nee Ryan), Age 84 of Barrington passed away on August 8, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Harry & Anna Ryan. Beloved wife of John for 62 years. Devoted and loving Mother of 9 children. Mary Alice Klaus(Bob), Dotty Kantner(Jim), Kathy McDonald, John King, Jr.(Shirley),Patty Babcock(Steve), Thom King(Noel), Rosemarie Blumenstein(Marty), Bob King and the late Eileen King. Grandmother of 32, Great-grandmother of 18. Also survived by her Sisters, Catherine Larouere, Dolores Davis, Rosemarie Martindell and her Brother, Thomas Ryan(Helena). She was also predeceased by 3 Brothers, Harry, Joseph Robert Ryan and 1 Sister, Sr. Alvena Ryan, OP. Family was always her first priority. She was always a source of strength and encouragement and had a kind word for everyone. She was a founding and dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Parish since 1955, member of the choir, Past President of “The Associates of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart”. Member of the Family Sodality, Past President of the Altar & Rosary Society, Song Leader at 8:00 Sunday Mass for over 40 years. Was employed for 30 years as a Pharmacist Technician at Leopold’s Pharmacy and continued on as a Pharmacy Technician for 8 years at Heights Primary Care. She was an award-winning competitive swimmer for the YMCA in Wilmerding, PA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her viewing on Sunday evening from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm and again on Monday from 8:30-10:00 am at the POPIOLEK FUNRAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church (St. Rita of Cascia Parish) 199 Willmont Avenue, Barrington at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 424 E. Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031 in memory of Dot King.
