On August 22, 2008 of Ocala, FL, formerly of Barrington, NJ age 89 yrs. Beloved husband of 68 yrs to Edith (Nee. Brogan). Devoted father of William L., Jr., Robert, Patricia Sowle, and Kathie Maxwell. Dear brother of Helen Read. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 1 Great-granddaughter and 2 great grandsons. Predeceased by one granddaughter Nancy. Mr. Maxwell was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II in Okinawa and South Korea with the 176th Engineers, where he was a demolition specialist removing mines and attained the rank of Staff Sgt. Prior to retiring to Ocala, Florida in 1992, Mr. Maxwell owned and operated Maxwell Trucking Co., Barrington, NJ. He was Past President of the Garden State Model A Region of Antique Automobile Club of American, and Ankokas Region of Mt. Holly and was a A.A. C.A. National Judge. Mr. Maxwell was also a life member of Antique Automobile Club of America, Honorary Member of Train Collector Assoc., Life Member of V.F.W. Post 4781, Ocala, member of Antique Auto Kingdom of Sun Region A.A.C.A., Ocala, FL. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday morning from 10am at the POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd., Barrington, NJ, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Interment with Military Honors New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
