On May 16, 2009 Life -long resident of Barrington, NJ, age 80 yrs. Beloved husband of 54 yrs to Elizabeth M. (Nee McNichol). Devoted father of Marianne Becker (Robert), Bernadette Givens (William), and Ernest Schuck, Jr. (Shannon). Dear brother of Robert and the late John Schuck. Loving grandfather of George, Christopher, Joe, Jacqueline, Iris, and Kate. Mr. Schuck served in the U.S. Army and then worked in Public Relations for Bell Telephone of PA for over 30 yrs. He proudly served the community of Barrington as a Councilman from 1967 to 1968 and Mayor from 1968 to 1973. After his term as Mayor, Mr. Schuck was then elected to the NJ General Assembly where he faithfully served his constituents of the 5th Legislative district from 1974 to 1981. During his time in the Assembly, Mr. Schuck served on many committees rising to Majority Whip and later Assistant Majority Leader. Mr. Schuck was also President of the Camden County Mayor’s Assoc., a member of Medford Lakes C.C. and loved to spend his summers with his family in Ocean City, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tues. evening from 6:30 to 9:30 PM and Wed. morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am at POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed, 10 am at St. Francis de Sales RC Church, Gloucester Pike & Willmont Ave, Barrington, NJ. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
