He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 14, 1970 and served as a Ministerial Servant and Elder in the Barrington and Atco congregations respectively. The true focus of his life was his family, friends and his zealous dedication to help others understand the full meaning of God’s love from the Bible. He found great joy in learning and helping people. Elmer enjoyed the mountains and the beach. Vacationing with his family and friends helped him gain greater appreciation for Jehovah God’s global creations, especially the animals like his cat, Charley.
