It is with deep sadness that we announce that Joan Alice Kemp passed away on December 30, 2020. Joan was happily married to her “lover-bunny” James Michael Kemp for 64 devoted years. She lived for her family and was a loving mother to 6 children and 12 grandchildren. For 20 years, she dedicated herself to the care of others as a nurse, first at Shore Memorial Hospital in the Post Intensive Care Unit and later at a pediatric nursing home. Joan was a source of joy, comfort, and love. Her laugh was infectious, and her tight hugs healing. She always strived to make anyone in her home feel welcome and happy. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. While we all want to be together to celebrate her life and console each other, the current pandemic makes it unsafe. We intend to honor Joan with a Celebration of Life when it is safe to gather after the pandemic. Due to COVID the in-person graveside service will be restricted to only her immediate family members.
