John J. King, Sr.

Age 91 of Barrington and Ocean City born and raised in East McKeesport, PA passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. King (Ryan) and devoted and loving father of nine children. Mary Alice (Bob) Klaus, Dotty (Jim) Kantner, Kathy McDonald, John King, Jr. (Shirley), Patty (Steve) Babcock, Thom King (Noel), Rosie (Marty) Blumenstein, Bob King (Regina) and the late Eileen King. Grandfather of 32 and Great-Grandfather of 41. Also survived by his Brother-in-Law, Thomas Ryan (Helena) and many Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his Parents, Charles and Margaret King, 4 Brothers, William, Robert, Daniel and Charles and 4 Sisters, Lizzie, Mary Jane, Doll and Regina. He was the Comptroller of A-1 Pipe Company of Logan Twp. until his Retirement. He was a founding and dedicated member of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Barrington since 1955. He was a Trustee of the Parish, member of the Holy Name Society, Family Sodality, Usher, served on the Parish Council for many years and a Eucharistic Minister. He was the Chairman of the Carnivals, Bingo and Night of the Races. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Family and Faith were always his source of strength. His proudest accomplishment in life was that of his large loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday 11am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 300 Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, NJ at 11:00, which can also be viewed livestream at www.strosenj.com. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no public viewing will be offered.
