Thelma (Del) V. Staskiel

Thelma Vivien Staskiel previously of Barrington passed away Tuesday November 29, 2022 peacefully in her sleep. She was the wife of the late Leonard J. Staskiel. She was a loving, strong, one-of-a-kind mother to her children. She is survived by her daughters, Athena Wilson (Paul), Nina Esoda (Robert, Maryann Ludwick (Craig), Karen Casale (Joseph) and her son Leonard J. Staskiel 2nd. Predeceased by her son Ricky and daughter Debra. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren Brad, Brian, Caitlin, Kevin, Kyle, Evan, Carrie, Robyn and Lauren and 8 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in New York City and raised in Staten Island she moved to Barrington with her husband Leonard where they lived for 60 years raising their family. She loved animals, especially dogs, and leaves behind her beloved mini doxie, Midnite. Shopping, reading, gardening and cooking were her favorite activities. She had internal radar for yard sales and thrift shops even before they were considered cool. Her love for dogs was shared by all her children and grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to watch the Tour-de-France or a late night football or hockey game or to share her opinions with the referees. She will be missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday December 10, 2022 from 4 PM to 5 PM at the POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ where a Memorial Service will follow at 5PM.
