Murray, Valerie J., age 55, from Blackwood, NJ died suddenly at her home on Friday, November 27. Valerie attended St. Rose Elementary School in Haddon Heights and was a 1983 graduate of Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, NJ. A phenomenal athlete, she grew up in Haddon Heights, NJ where she could be found on the basketball courts, the softball fields, or the tennis courts. After graduating high school, she landed a job with the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, NJ as a bus hostess, keeping the excited casino patrons entertained with her engaging personality and quick wit…so much so, that the frequent travelers started requesting her as their hostess. Valerie also had waitressing jobs and bartending jobs…any occupation that would keep her engaged with the public. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, George Murray, her adult children Ryan Murray from Pine Hill NJ, Sean Murray of Barrington NJ and Devon Murray of Brooklawn NJ, one grandson Shane Murray, her parents, William and Valerie Tooley of Eagleville, PA, her brother William Tooley Jr. (Janet) of Tega Cay, SC, and her sister Kerri Angle (Gregg) of Eagleville, PA, along with many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Valerie’s visitation from 10am to 11am on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Popiolek Funeral Home, 400 Clements Bridge Road, Barrington, NJ.
