Vincent C. Gambale, Sr.

Of Barrington, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, age 99yrs. Beloved husband of Theresa (nee Pettinari). Devoted father of Patricia Villa (Peter), and the late Vincent C. Gambale, Jr. (Barbara). Dear brother of Virginia Silemeo (late James) and the late Sr. Regina Madeline, IHM. Loving grandfather of Megan (Michael), Melissa (Eric), Bowen (Samantha), and Christina (Dan). Great-grandfather of Joanna, and Aubrey Rose. Vincent was born in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from South Philadelphia High School. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and courageously fought in the Battle of Rhineland as well as the Battle of the Bulge. For injuries suffered in battle, Vincent was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. After his military service, Vince worked as a Civil Engineer until the time of his retirement. Among his many passions, Vince enjoyed horse racing and was proud to have visited the Saratoga Racetrack. Additionally, he loved cheering for his favorite baseball team the Philadelphia Philles as well as watching a good football game. Vince enjoyed trips to the casino, celebrating the holidays with his family, and traveling to visit his grandchildren in college, especially Penn State. He was a long-time resident of Barrington and a member of the former Barrington VFW Post 7247. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Holy Eucharist R.C. Church, 344 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Harleigh Mausoleum, Camden, NJ.
