William Swain Collier, Jr.

William Swain Collier, Jr., formally of Bellmawr and Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Pre-deceased by his parents, William S., Sr. & Merab (Hampton) Collier, formally of Fairview. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Anne, (nee Dawkins) Loving Father of Mary Corson (Ed), Dolores Cummings, Thomas, and John Collier. Pre-deceased by daughter, Dorothea and son, William S. Collier III (Deborah); his sister, Marie Mealey Wilmot. Loving Stepfather to Suzanne Scharlé (Cris Burton), Anthony Scharlé, Jr. (Christina), Matthew Scharle (Kimberly), and Daniel Scharlé (Traci). Loving Grandfather to Brooke Torres (Nick), William C. Collier, Nicole Cummings, Jason Cummings, and Emily Cummings, Christopher Scharlé (Erica), Nicholas Scharlé, Ethan, Griffen, Jaxon Scharlé, and Nicholas Parrotti, and pre-deceased by Andrew Scharlé. Two great-granddaughters Stella and Dylan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill Graduated from Camden Catholic High School, Class of 1954. He worked for Camden County Highway Dept. of Engineering for 42 years. After retiring, Bill and Mary Anne moved to Florida, where they enjoyed 15 years of good living. While there, they became active members of the New Jersey and Friends Club of Citrus County. Bill served many years as their Club Treasurer. They returned to New Jersey in 2015 to be near family. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. Luke’s Church, Warwick Rd, Stratford, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to either the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or Samaritan Hospice, www.samaritannj.org would be appreciated.
