Kirk Popiolek was raised in the Erial section of Gloucester Township, NJ. He is a 1994 graduate of Paul VI High School. After graduating from high school, Kirk attended the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science, but later transferred to Mercer County College, majoring in Mortuary Science and Business Administration. In 1998, Kirk graduated from college and was licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Practitioner of Mortuary Science. During his career, Kirk has worked in some of the areas largest and culturally diverse funeral homes. In 2003, Kirk purchased the Metts-Davis Funeral Home in Barrington, NJ renaming it the Popiolek Funeral Home. Kirk and his wife Rebecca, along with their children Noah, Abigail Aaron and Emily reside above the funeral home. Kirk is an active member of the community and was elected to the Barrington Borough Council in 2004. As a Councilman, Kirk is involved in many of the borough's activities and organizations. Kirk is a member and Past-President of the West Jersey Funeral Director's Association, Kiwanis of the Haddons, the Polish American Congress, South Jersey Div., Troop Committee Chair of Boy Scouts of America Troop 96, a supporter of the Polish Cultural Center of Historic Philadelphia, and a parishioner of both St. Joseph's R.C. Church, South Camden and Holy Child Parish, Runnemede.
